pl2303 ttyUSB2: pl2303_set_control_lines – failed: -19
When I finished install Ubuntu 16.04 and minicom package, I’d like to use minicom to access the ttyUSB device. I found there was nothing output in ttyUSB device.
I used “dmesg | grep ttyUSB” command to check the logs. I got the following errors.

Then, I had done the following operations. Actually I don’t know which one take effect, but they don’t have any side effect, so you guys can also try them.
Operation 1:
Run the “sudo chmod 777/dev/ttyUSB0” command. ttyUSB0 is the device which you want to access.
Operation 2:
Run the “sudo adduser [username] dialout” command.
Operation 3:
Restart ttyUSB*. The following are the steps to restart ttyUSB.
- sudo modprobe -r pl2303 #or the name that matches your config.
- sudo modprobe -r usbserial
- sudo modprobe pl2303 #or the name that matches your config
Operation 4:
After do the above operations, unplug the USB port and plug it in again. I think maybe this operation is very important.
